What: The fields and reservoirs of Southeastern Colorado are turning white, but not from snow – but from large white geese arriving by the thousands during their annual migration, and you’ll have a chance to see them this weekend during the High Plains Snow Goose Festival! The festival not only offers birders the opportunity to view on of largest migrations in the state – they also offer field trips, seminars, hiking opportunities, history lessons, a close up view of the state’s raptors, and much more.

3. Get ready for those summer hobbies with the help of the Denver Golf Expo

5. Catch the magical creations of ice sculpting artists at the Cripple Creek Ice Festival
What: Didn’t catch the international Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge at the end of January? You’ll have your chance to experience something similar during the Cripple Creek Ice Festival. Ice sculptors will carve ice into beautiful works of art. This year’s theme will be “Carver’s Choice.” There will also be interactive sculptures for attendees to climb on for a selfie or a group
photo – and there is also an ice slide for kids.

6. Challenge yourself or your friends during the Ice Climbing Festival in Lake City
What: Just one block south of historic downtown Lake City is the Lake City Ice Park, which is where you’ll want to go if you’re looking to climb during the winter months! The ice wall offers 10 to 15 routes, 60 to 100-foot pitches, bolted anchors and mixed grades.

7. Join Denver7 for Hollywood’s biggest night at Alamo Drafthouse
What: Come hang out with some of your favorite local TV stars from Denver7 at the Alamo Drafthouse Oscars Watch party! The pre-party starts at 5 p.m. at Pandora’s Box (inside Alamo Drafthouse), which will be decorated with an Oscars-themed look for the night. Then, everyone will head into the theater to watch the 91st Academy Awards starting at 6 p.m. There will be celebratory drinks and you are encouraged to dress as if you yourself were walking the red carpet on Hollywood Blvd! All ticket proceeds will benefit the Denver Actor’s Fund.
