1. A Taste of Colorado

What: Downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park and the surrounding streets are transforming for the four-day, free admission, music, food, shopping and family-fun festival of the 35th Annual A Taste of Colorado

Where: Denver’s Civic Center Park

When: Saturday, September 1 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, September 2 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Monday (Labor Day), September 3 from 11 a.m. - 8pm.

2. Colorado State Fair

What: Carnival rides, live entertainment and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo are just some of the things you can enjoy starting this weekend until Labor Day at the Colorado State Fair! 

Where: Colorado State Fairgrounds, 1001 Beulah Ave. in Pueblo, Colo.

When: Friday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. through Sept. 3 at 11 p.m.  

Admission: $10 for anyone 13-years-old and older; $7 for kids ages 5 to 12; Free for children 4 and under.

3. Central American Festival

What: People from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Belize and Mexico will come together to celebrate all things Central America. Music of several different Latin American genres such as salsa, merengue, punta, bachata, cumbia, reggaeton, and marimba will be performed. Food from the many different countries will also be available for purchase. 

Where: Lowry Community Park, 1001 Dayton Ave. in Aurora, Colorado. 

When: Saturday, Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

4. Denver Art Museum Free Day

What: Enjoy free admission to the Denver Art Museum.  Note that special exhibitions will require a ticketed admission.

Where: Denver Art Museum, 100 W. 14th Avenue Parkway, Denver, Colo.

When: Saturday: 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.

5. Celestial Seasonings Factory Tour

What: Did you know you can tour Colorado’s very own Celestial Seasonings Factory for free?  Factory tours run every hour Monday through Sunday.  And every tour includes a whiff of the Mint Room, guaranteed to clear any stuffy nose.  Afterwards, be sure to visit the sampling bar with over 100 kinds of tea to taste.  Note that kids must be at least 5 years old to tour the factory floor.

Where: Celestial Seasonings, 4600 Sleepytime Drive, Boulder, Colo.

When:  Mondays – Saturdays: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Sundays: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

6. Coors Brewery Tours

What: Coors has been making beer in Golden, Colo., since the 1870s. The brewery experience includes a 30-minute self-paced tour highlighting the malting, brewing and packaging processes.

Where: Ford Street, Golden, CO

When: Weekly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Weekly on Sunday from noon – 4 p.m.

7. Buy local, straight-from-the-farm fresh produce 

What: You know our winter season is finally over when farmers' market start popping up in your neighborhood. Luckily for all of us in Colorado, there are dozens of places to choose fresh produce from before winter makes its comeback in just a few months.

When: From Monday through Sunday

Admission: Free (unless you end up buying something, of course)
