During the fight against the coronavirus, healthcare workers are on the frontlines. While people across the country are under strict orders to stay home as much as possible, doctors, nurses and other medical professionals must continue to come into work and care for sick patients. To thank them for their heroic work during this trying time, Krispy Kreme is giving free doughnuts to healthcare workers each Monday for the next two months.

The giveaway began on Monday, March 30, which is National Doctors’ Day. It will continue through National Nurses Week (May 6–12). To take advantage of this freebie, healthcare professionals can simply show their badge at their local Krispy Kreme and ask for however many dozens of doughnuts they would like (with a limit of five dozen).

Krispy Kreme announced the promotion on Facebook on March 25:

“Hey healthcare pros!” reads the post. “You all are incredible. As a sweet THANK YOU for all you’re doing, we’ve got FREE dozens for you on Mondays from National Doctors Day 3/30 through National Nurses Week 5/11.”

The post directs people to this link, which provides all the details.

“Pick up some free dozens on the way to work for you and your colleagues, or maybe a free dozen on your way home to family after a long shift,” suggests the site.

In addition to the free doughnuts for healthcare workers, Krispy Kreme is also adding a free dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts to every pick-up, drive-thru and delivery order that includes a full-price dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts. This deal, which kicked off March 28, is available on Saturdays. Each free dozen includes a special smiley-face doughnut to help lift people’s spirits during this difficult time. They’re dubbing it the “Be Sweet Dozen.” The doughnuts will be securely sealed and bagged individually and will come with instructions for contactless drop-off.

Krispy Kreme has adjusted the hours of operation at some of their shops in order to comply with state and/or local government guidelines, but most locations in the U.S. have drive-thrus, which remain open for pick-up orders. Doughnuts can also be delivered within 10 miles of participating shops.
