KFC Is Making Tacos With Fried-chicken ‘shells’ In At Least 1 City

Look out, Taco Bell. KFC is getting into the taco game — and the chicken company is also swapping in fried chicken for the taco shell, just like Taco Bell did with its Naked Chicken Chalupa.

That’s right: Fried chicken taco shells are an innovative new offering on the KFC menu, but there is a catch. You’ll have to travel to Singapore to try them.

The aptly named “Kentaco” was recently promoted on the Singapore KFC Instagram page, and it looks downright delicious. The “finger-licking good” taco shell is made with KFC’s signature fried chicken, which is formed into a taco shape and stuffed with lettuce, tomatoes and four different kinds of shredded cheese.

While the tacos are only currently available in Singapore, we can hope that if the product rollout goes well, we may soon see it stateside as well.

This is not the first time that foreign KFCs have gotten a jump on us Americans. Last year, KFC rolled out chicken tacos in France, but instead of being made with a fried chicken shell, these “Double Tacos” had both a hard shell and a soft shell, and were stuffed with KFC’s fried chicken tenders. They also included guacamole, pico de gallo and melted cheese.

While we don’t have either of these yummy taco options in America yet, we do have the new Kentucky Fried Wings! These wings come flavored with your choice of sauce: honey BBQ, buffalo or Nashville Hot (you can also get them unsauced if you prefer). KFC is selling their wings in a box of six, 12, 24 or 48 wings.

We also have the new KFC fried chicken and donuts combo here in the States — the perfect meal with both sweet and savory notes. Check out this insanely rich menu item in KFC’s recent tweet:

Will you try a Kentaco if they become available in the U.S.?
