Ikea Is Hosting An In-store Sleepover

If spending a day at Ikea is your idea of heaven, here’s some exciting news. You can spend the whole night there, too.

World Sleep Day is Friday, March 13, 2020, and the Swedish furniture giant is offering select Ikea Family card members the chance to spend the night in an Ikea showroom at the Ikea Brooklyn and Ikea Costa Mesa stores.

And in true sleepover spirit, there will be plenty of family-friendly activities and games all geared toward getting a great night’s sleep, reports Travel + Leisure, such as an Insomniac Lounge featuring autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR), a Silent Disco and lessons on how to create the perfect sleep environment. (Rumors of meatballs for a midnight feast remain unconfirmed, but there will be food and you even get a swag bag to take home.)

IKEA hasn’t revealed the exact sleep setup, but their Instagram feed is packed with plenty of cozy bed inspirations.

To try to secure your spot at the Ikea Swede Dreams Sleepover, enter the raffle on the Ikea website. There are 20 spots up for grabs in each location (Brooklyn, N.Y. and Costa Mesa, Calif.) and lucky winners — who can bring one guest along for the night — will be contacted the week of Feb. 24.

You don’t have to live in those areas; the contest is open to all residents of the 50 states, but you need to arrange your own transport to and from the sleepover. You’ll need your Ikea Family Membership number to enter. Official rules are here

If you miss out, you can still take part in Ikea’s After Dark Sleep Festival in-store events on Saturday, Feb, 22 from 3-9 p.m. Several locations nationwide are taking part in the scaled-down versions of the sleepover, which are open to all customers and include workshops “where you can discover new ways to save your sleep, as well as fun workshops, activities and prizes,” according to an Eventbrite listing for the Frisco, Texas event. Check your local Ikea store to see if it’s participating.

But that’s not all. Ikea is also urging fans in the New York City and Los Angeles areas to keep an eye out for other “sleep surprises” during National Sleep Week (March 1-8, 2020).

This “sleep sanctuary” setup from Ikea’s Instagram page looks relaxing, doesn’t it?

Will you enter this contest and try to spend a night in Ikea?
