DENVER -- "I'm going to make a lot of people happy with this money," said Diego B., moments after he learned he won $250,000 in a Colorado Lottery second-chance drawing.
Diego broke down in tears when the Colorado Lottery Surprise team showed up at his workplace this week.
"I keep thinking I don't deserve this," he said.
Diego told Lottery representatives that he came to Colorado four years ago after a tumultuous stay in Iowa. A series of personal troubles caused Diego to live out of his car for nearly a year. He's recently gotten back on his feet with the help of a friend he met on a Facebook group for Mitsubishi aficionados.
Diego said he's going to spend the money on Christmas gifts for his 6-year-old son. He'd also like to build a home in the near future.
