While you could start a new exercise program, take up a hobby or finally finish some home projects while staying inside due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a self-quarantine is also a great opportunity to read some books you’ve always wanted to read or binge-watch a show you’ve never seen.

And to assist in your TV-binging efforts, HBO is offering nearly 500 hours of shows, movies and documentaries free for everyone for a limited time — no subscription required!

The free content can be found on the HBO Now and HBO Go apps and includes every episode of nine iconic HBO series: “The Sopranos,” “Veep,” “Six Feet Under,” “The Wire,” “Ballers,” “Barry,” “Silicon Valley,” “Succession” and “True Blood.”

However, you will not find certain other popular shows, like “Game of Thrones” and “Sex and the City.”

Movies include “The Bridges of Madison County,” “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love” and more, plus documentaries and docu-series like “McMillion$” and “The Case Against Adnan Syed.”

According to a press release, this is the first time HBO has made this volume of programming available outside of the paywall on HBO NOW and HBO GO. Some shows, however, including “The Sopranos” and “The Wire” are also available on Amazon Prime.

The move is touted as an effort to encourage people to stay indoors and be entertained at home rather than going out to socialize with others, which increases the risk of spreading the coronavirus.

To begin watching the free content, just download the HBO Now or HBO Go app to your phone, tablet or streaming device. HBO does not say how long the content will be offered, so if you’re looking to start a new show, you’ll want to do so soon.

If you’re more of a radio or podcast fan, SiriusXM is offering free access for North American listeners to its lineup of more than 300 channels until May 15.

Will you be taking advantage of this offer and watching some shows or movies you haven’t seen before?
