Akira Kurosawa's Dreams (Criterion)

In one of his final films, the legendary Japanese director crafts eight vignettes based on his dreams. The stories range from whimsical childhood memories to jolting apocalyptic visions. Martin Scorsese plays a memorable role as Vincent Van Gogh. Extras in the lavishly crafted Criterion Blu-ray include a tribute booklet that includes the script for the unfilmed ninth chapter, as well as a 150-minute making-of documentary, as well as a 50-minute biography on Kurosawa and several interviews with his collaborators.
