Every weekend, Denver7 compiles a list of some family friendly events you might enjoy.  This weekend brings the start of the fall season, filled with Oktoberfest celebrations and corn mazes. Here are our picks for the 7 best things to do in Denver this weekend.  

Friday - Sunday

Corn Maze at Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms

What: Get lost in the 8-acre corn maze at the Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms.   Maze admission also includes the mini-maze, one hayride, and unlimited bounces on the jumping pillow.  Pony and hamster balls available for an additional fee.   Food vendors selling your favorite fall snacks like funnel cakes and kettle corn will also be available. 

Where:  Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms, 8500 W. Deer Creek Canyon Road, Littleton, Colo.

When: Fridays and Saturdays: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sundays: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.  (Weekends through Oct. 30th)

Admission: $13 – Adult; $10 – Kids 3-12 years; Kids 2 and under are free.  Member discounts available.

Summerset Festival

What: Say goodbye to summer at this annual family-friendly event.  Enjoy live music and fireworks Friday night, followed by two full days packed with activities including arts and crafts, music, food and drinks, and a Saturday night concert featuring headliner Chris Daniels & The Kings.  The kids will stay entertained as well with a climbing wall, inflatables, mini golf and more, plus a Safety Fair and a Sunday morning Fishing Derby.   Also on Sunday, bring your furry friends to enjoy FunDay for dogs.  

Where: Clement Park, 7306 W. Bowles Avenue, Littleton, Colo.

When: Friday: 5 p.m.-9p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. (Concert from 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m.) and Sunday: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Downtown Boulder Fall Fest 

What: As one of Boulder’s most treasured community events, this three day festival will feature artisan booths, live music, food and brews.  Add a children’s activity area, complete with obstacle course, bouncy castles, face painting, performers and more, and this festival promises the perfect weekend adventure for the whole family.

Where: Pearl Street Mall, Downtown Boulder, Colo.

When:  Friday: 5 p.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday: 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Admission: Free (Some activities will charge a small fee.)

Parker Oktoberfest

What: Celebrate German heritage and traditions at Parker Oktoberfest this weekend featuring live German music, Bavarian dancers, delicious German food, and a Biergarten.  This family-friendly festival will also include over 100 vendor booths and a variety of kids activities, including an obstacle course, bungee jump, slide and more. 

Where: O’Brien Park, 10795 S. Victorian Drive, Parker, Colo.

When: Friday: 6 p.m.-11 p.m.; Saturday: 11 a.m.-11 p.m. and Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

A Day Out with Thomas: The Ready, Set, Go Tour 2016

What:  The event little engineers look forward to each year.  Thomas fans of all ages are invited to spend the day with their favorite No. 1 engine.  This event gives kids an opportunity to ride on board a train lead by Thomas and have their picture taken with Sir Topham Hatt.  Admission includes access to museum exhibits, as well as special Thomas themed activities including a petting zoo, Imagination Station, sing-a-longs, and a magic show. 

Where: Colorado Railroad Museum, 17155 W. 44th Avenue, Golden, Colo.

When: Saturday & Sunday: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (Weekends through Sept. 25th)

Admission: Tickets Range $20-$25 for ages 2 years and older (Tickets are limited; advance purchase recommended.)

Celtic Harvest Festival

What:  Experience the rich Celtic culture through traditional pipe bands, step dancing, food and drink, and musical performances.  Stroll through the Celtic village watching sword fighters, wool spinners and other unique craftsmen and vendors.  Kids will also enjoy games, bouncy castles, crafts, and an authentic Punch & Judy puppet show.  And don’t miss the sheep herding demonstration, which is sure to entertain both young and old.

Where: Citizen Park, 24th and Benton Street, Edgewater, Colo.

When: Saturday: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. 

Admission: $5; Kids 12 years and under are free.

CherryArts Festival at Stanley

What:  It’s a scaled down version of a summertime favorite, but will feature the same national art and local flavor.  Located on the border of Aurora and Stapleton, stroll amongst the nearly 100 juried visual artists, plus enjoy live music, delicious cuisine and the children’s Creation Station.   

Where: Stanley Marketplace, 2501 N. Dallas Street, Aurora, Colo.

When: Saturday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Bonus Things To Do:  The Mineral, Fossil and Gem Show is around for another weekend at the Denver Coliseum; and this weekend kicks off haunted house season, as several metro area haunts open for those who dare.
