Capitol Hill People’s Fair

What: An annual tradition to start the summer festival season.  Celebrate Denver’s diverse urban community with a weekend of family-friendly entertainment, activities and attractions.  As of one of the leading arts and crafts events in the region, you’ll find all kinds of unique items from homemade cakes and jam to jewelry and one-of-a-kind paintings.  Plus live music, street theatre, delicious food, kids activities and more.

When: Saturday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sunday: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Denver Chalk Art Festival

What: Watch as more than 200 artists turn the streets in and around Larimer Square into a museum of chalk art in what has become one of the city’s most treasured events.   The artists will spend hours recreating masterpieces or sharing their own original works that will amaze and come to life right before your eyes.

KidsFest

What: Back by popular demand, this has become the must-attend summer event for all preschool and elementary-age kids, featuring hands-on activities that celebrate arts, science and entertainment.  Plus music, family-friendly vendors, and the Strider Cup Race, which is sure to put a smile on every face.

Bonus Things To Do:  Celebrate the outdoors on Saturday at Arvada Trails Day Festival, with activities spanning three parks.  For more info, visit arvadafestivals.com.  Also, the Urban Market opens for the season Saturday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. in Skyline Park. Featuring a cornucopia of local arts and crafts, this downtown outdoor marketplace will open on select dates through October. And City Park Jazz kicks off its free summer concert series this Sunday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
