Thursday - Sunday

Greeley Stampede

What: Rustle up them doggies and head to Greeley, because the 95th annual Greeley Stampede kicks off this Thursday.  Rich in tradition and heritage dating back to the late 1800s, this year’s Stampede is once again packed with a full line-up of rodeos, concerts, carnivals and other events.  Come see why this PRCA Rodeo Series has grown to reach international acclaim, and stay for concert headliners that include Lady Antebellum, Chris Young, and Luis Coronel.  

Where: Island Grove Regional Park, 600 N. 14th Avenue, Greeley, Colo.

When:  Begins Thursday and runs through July 4th; Various times. 

Admission: Event tickets vary in price.  (Purchase online or at King Soopers locations.)

Frederick in Flight

What: Up, up and away.  The town of Frederick celebrates flight this weekend with hot air balloons and other fun activities for the whole family.  Hot air balloons will take flight each morning from Centennial Park.  And Saturday evening, the Glow Party takes over with live music, food vendors, a beer garden, and kid’s activities.  

Where: Centennial Park, 630 8th Street, Frederick, Colo.

When:  Friday - Sunday: Daily Balloon Launch at daybreak; and Saturday: Glow Party: 6 p.m.-10 p.m.

16th Street Fair

What: Take a stroll along the 16th Street Mall to enjoy a wide array of original works from emerging artists and designers at this an annual celebration of fine art and handcrafted goods. 

Where:  16th Street Pedestrian Mall, Downtown Denver, Colo.

When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

South Platte RiverFest

What: An urban RiverFest with events including stand up paddle board demos, a river art competition, a variety of riverside recreational activities, live music, food, beer, vendors, a kids zone, and more. This two-day festival benefits the Greenway Foundation which for the past 40 years, has worked to reclaim, restore and revitalize the South Platte River and its tributaries in Denver.

Where: Confluence Park, 15th Street and Little Raven Street, Denver, Colo.

When: Saturday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sunday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Sand in the City

What: It’s a beach party in Colorado!  Sand sculptures, live music, craft beer, vendors and a kid’s zone complete with a giant sandbox, bouncy castle and other fun activities. 

Where: Ralston Park, 11200 Ralston Road, Arvada, Colo.

When: Saturday: 11 a.m.-9 p.m. and Sunday: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. 

Admission: $5 – Adults; Kids 12 years and under are free.

Music Arts Festival

What: This annual family event will feature a weekend of free music with everything from country and blues, to big band and show tunes. Plus a marketplace full of arts and crafts, food and drinks, and more.

Where: Civic Green Park, 9370 Ridgeline Blvd., Highlands Ranch, Colo.

When: Saturday: 11 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Car Show and a Movie

What:  It’s a Car Show, featuring an impressive collection of classic and exotic cars, followed by live music and a movie under the stars. Bring your lawn chair or blanket to enjoy live music from Six Foot Joe and the Red Hot Rhinos, followed by the fun family film, Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip.  Food vendors will also be available.
