Every weekend, Denver7 compiles a list of some family friendly events you might enjoy.  Egg hunts top the list this Easter weekend, along with some fun sporting events to entertain your family.   Here are our picks for the 7 best things to do in Denver this weekend.

Rodeo All-Star Weekend

What: Watch as the nation’s top-ranked cowboys and cowgirls compete in this ultimate pro rodeo competition.  The festival atmosphere will also include a chance to meet the rodeo stars, Mutton Bustin’, mechanical bull riding, live music, plus vendors and interactive exhibits.

Where: National Western Complex, 4655 Humboldt Street, Denver, Colo.

When: Friday Rodeo: 7 p.m.; and Saturday Rodeo: 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. (Visit website for full schedule of events)

Colorado Eagles vs. Idaho Steelheads – First Round Playoffs

What: It’s ECHL Playoff Hockey!  The Colorado Eagles take on the Idaho Steelheads in round one of the 2017 Kelly Cup Playoffs.  Be a part of the action and cheer on our ECHL hometown hockey team.

Four Mile Historic Park Free Day

What: It’s a free day at the Four Mile Historic Park.  You’ll feel like you’ve traveled back in time as you wander this 1859 farm.  Pan for gold, meet the farm animals and more.   You can enjoy free admission at this Denver landmark on the second Friday of each month. 

Where:  Four Mile Historic Park, 715 S. Forest Street, Denver, Colo.

Family Sports Egg Scramble

What: Kids, grab your baskets and head to the Family Sports Dome for the annual South Suburban Egg Scramble. Hundreds of colorful eggs will be scattered about the indoor field.  Find the golden egg for a special prize.  After the hunt, stick around to play on the bungee run and take part in fun fitness activities.  Sorry parents, only kids 12 years and under can hunt for eggs.

Bunny Trail

What: It’s an event blossoming with fun.  Kids can jump, hop and bounce between activities such as egg-dying, arts and crafts, tasty treats and visits with Truffles the bunny.  

Where: Children’s Museum of Denver, 2121 Children’s Museum Drive, Denver, Colo.

When: Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Admission: General Admission - $15; Members and Kids under 1 year are free.

Bunny Express Train

What: All aboard the Bunny Express Train, featuring the 1880s vintage passenger coach that will give you a glimpse of what travel was like 100 years ago.  This annual spring tradition is fun the whole family can enjoy.   Also, the Easter Bunny and Spike the Railyard Hound will be on-hand giving out treats to the kids.
