The first batch of performers for the CMA Awards 50th anniversary was announced Monday.

Included on the list were co-hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.

Also making the first-round announcement was Dierks Bentely (nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, and Music Video of the Year),  Eric Church (nominated for  Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year), Maren Moris (nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Single of the Year), and Keith Urban (nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Musical Event of the Year).

In previous years, the CMA Awards has been a platform for both cross-genre experimentation and new artist discovery.

Chris Stapleton had such an experience last year when he performed with Justin Timberlake. Stapleton would go on to take home three CMA trophies that evening.

2016 should be just as eventful as the show celebrates its golden anniversary. The CMA Awards air November 2 at 7 p.m. CT on ABC.
