Even though social distancing remains in place, summer is in full swing, with virtual events, safe dining options and other events across the Denver area.

Here are seven things to do this month:

Denver Public Library is offering virtual services and programs. Tap into their virtual library for books and entertainment, engage with them online through book clubs and storytime, and much, much more.

• Head to your local farmers market! Mile High on the Cheap has put together a list of 47 Denver area summer farmers markets and when they open.

• Hit the trail to end hunger with Hike to End Hunger from June 12-June 14. Join the virtual hike and help raise awareness about Coloradans impacted by hunger while raising funds to help end hunger.

• The city of Westminster is hosting Movies in the Park on select Fridays from June to August starting this Friday. Watch your favorite family movies on a giant, outdoor screen. You can bring the whole family and it’s free! Activities and food concessions begin at 7pm and the movies start at dusk.

• If you’re in need of a good laugh, check out the Denver Comedy Lounge for a comedy show on Friday or Saturday night. It’s nice out and since being outside is the safest for groups, all shows will be held outdoors right behind the Denver Comedy Lounge. You can purchase your ticket to the show here. They currently have limited seating and a maximum of 11 tables (2-4 tops) that will be full service – serving Denver Sushi House Sushi/Poke/ramen and Colorado Sake Co. Sake. The show goes from 8 – 9:30pm (doors open at 7:30pm).

• Join the Jodi’s Race virtual dash on June 13 to help benefit the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance. The annual race now has a virtual option that allows you sign up for the race and receive a package filled with goodies to hold your own race at home, in your neighborhood, or with friends and family (when it’s allowed).

• Explore downtown Denver with Urban Adventure Quest’s Amazing Scavenger Hunt. The scavenger hunt begins at the Capital building and takes you on a journey through art and culture, among the shops of the 16th Street Mall and down through courtyards and buildings steeped in rich Denver History. The total distance is about 2 miles and it takes about 2 – 2.5 hours to complete.
