Home grown in Northern California, just east of San Francisco, I grew up spoiled with the best weather on the planet. For 17 years, I never knew how good I had it until I moved to Maryland for school and experienced the brutal east coast humidity. After that I got a taste of those biting Midwest winters, and then, the Florida sunshine. Now, my home base is the Rocky Mountains.

Journalism was not my first path in life. I thought I would be working in politics. After graduating college, I worked for a polling firm in Seattle and then on a congressional campaign in my home district in California. But after helping my candidate earn a victory, I thought about another career path: broadcast journalism. So, I went out and got an internship at the local sports radio station and then applied to journalism school. I was lucky enough to be accepted to my Alma mater the University of Maryland. At Maryland, I was a part of the Philip Merrill College of Journalism, where I went from not knowing how to use a camera to producing award winning packages for our news program Capital News service.

After almost four years in TV news, with stops in Bismarck, ND and Fort Myers, FL, I now find myself traveling the country find the most interesting stories the US has to offer. I can’t wait to start producing quality journalism and talking about the great stories all around the country. If you have a story you want to tell shoot me an email at bo.evans@scripps.com
