Netflix is always adding new shows … yada yada yada … but this one is big. “Seinfeld” is coming soon to the streaming service! All of the extremely popular, classic sitcom’s 180 episodes will be available on Netflix as soon as its contract with Hulu is up in 2021.

We suppose Netflix hopes this new acquisition will fulfill our need for 1990s nostalgia, especially since they recently let go of “Friends.” I think we’re cool replacing Chandler with Kramer, at least for a little while.

In this new deal Netflix has made with Sony Pictures, they’ll be able to stream the popular television show for five years. That’s plenty of time to fly through all nine seasons!

“Seinfeld” aired from 1989 to 1998 and, while it easily could have kept going, star Jerry Seinfeld declined, saying he felt that ending the show at nine seasons would help it go out with dignity. In fact, the comedian turned down a whopping $100,000 per episode in declining to do that 10th season!

Thanks to the 2015 deal with Hulu, the actor is reportedly worth $950 million today. Seinfeld, who is 65 years old, ranks at No. 83 on Forbes’ “The Celebrity 100” list with annual earnings of $43 million.

He also has a production deal with Netflix and already appears on the network in “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” — a talk show that began in 2012.  It’s fun to watch Seinfeld interview others while driving around in some pretty sweet automobiles.

The comedians on Seinfeld’s talk show always have a good time, as highlighted in this “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” YouTube clip in which he talks to host Jimmy Fallon about their experience together:

It’s hard to believe “Seinfeld,” also known as “the show about nothing,” turns 30 this year. It’s amazing to see a sitcom that is three decades old continue to garner so much support and love from fans.

We’re watching it on Hulu now, and we’ll be watching it again on Netflix!
