DENVER – Hollywood’s biggest night is just days away, and what better way to celebrate than by helping a local nonprofit as you watch the Oscars with Denver7?
Alamo Drafthouse Denver is hosting an awards show party benefiting the Denver Actors Fund on Sunday, Feb. 26, starting at 5:30 p.m.
A portion of the ticket proceeds will go to the Denver Actors Fund, a nonprofit that provides some much needed help to the local theater community.
"In the spirit of keeping events locally oriented, we're happy to partner with Denver7 and raise funds for the Denver Actors Fund, who do great work with supporting local talent," said Steve Bessette, creative director at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Denver.
The watch party will start with the live broadcast of Oscars Opening Ceremony: Live from the Red Carpet, followed by 87th Academy Awards with host Jimmy Kimmel.
Planning to celebrate with us? Come dressed as if you’re winning an award yourself, as you’ll experience red carpet treatment with live music by classical duo Front Range Strings. A food and drink menu inspired nominated movies, actors and actresses will be served at the event.
“We can't imagine a better match than pairing with a party that celebrates Hollywood's biggest night,” said John Moore, founder of the Denver Actors Fund. “The actors you see on Colorado stages performing plays and musicals every weekend are the very characters you see in the film La La Land, which is at heart a celebration of dreamers.”
So come on out and get to meet and mingle with Denver7 talent as we all enjoy a night honoring some of the biggest movies and actors in Hollywood.
