DENVER  --  Bowling is one of those games that’s just as much about trying as it is about winning.

Nowhere is that more true than at the Special Olympics Colorado bowling tournament for kids in Denver Public Schools.

Special Olympics offers kids with disabilities the opportunity to learn about physical fitness and the joy of participating through a variety of sports.

Denver7 contributor Hanna Atkinson asked one mom how Special Olympics has made a difference in the life of her kids. The answers? Just by always including them.

In fact, she said the programs are as beneficial for the parents as they are for the kids.

“I think it impacts all the parents because we want all the best for our children,” the mother said. “We want them to be able to participate in all the sports and activities that typical children can and Special Olympics let them do that.”

Special Olympics Colorado offers a variety of different athletic opportunities depending upon the season. Follow the link to their website to learn what is available now.
