It’s been seven years since the finale of “30 Rock,” and next month fans will once again be able to get their fix of the NBC comedy with the premiere of a one-time special celebrating NBCUniversal’s 2020-21 television season.

Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski and Jack McBrayer will all reprise their roles for the reunion event.

The pre-scripted and pre-recorded hour-long show will air at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 16, sans commercials. It will also be rebroadcast on USA Network, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, Syfy and CNBC and will be available to stream on Peacock as of 9 p.m. ET on July 17.

The special is part of NBC’s upfronts. These events are traditionally the networks’ way of showcasing their upcoming season’s programming to advertisers, who can get discounted rates by purchasing commercial slots ahead of time. Although an upfront is usually a live event, this year’s has been modified to be virtual and on television to accommodate social distancing guidelines amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Historically, this event is about the future of programming; this year, it’s about the future of our industry — a future where we can meet audiences wherever they are, with the stories that move them,” Linda Yaccarino, chairman of Advertising & Partnerships at NBCUniversal said in a statement. “As the old saying goes … when life hands you Lemon, have her host the Upfront!”

Yaccarino is referencing “30 Rock” character Liz Lemon, a writer and creator of a fictional sketch comedy show, who is portrayed by Fey. As “30 Rock” was a satire of NBC’s real-life iconic sketch show “Saturday Night Live,” it’s fitting that the cast would host the first public-facing upfront, an event that’s typically reserved for industry insiders. “30 Rock” originally ran on NBC from 2006 to 2013.

“We’re all happy to have this excuse to (remotely) work together again for NBC,” “30 Rock” executive producers Fey and Robert Carlock said in the statement. “To quote Kenneth the Page, there are only two things we love in this world, television and everyone.”

In addition to the “30 Rock” cast, the one-time television event will also feature other NBCUniversal talent and will preview both new and returning programming from across all its channels.

Will you tune in to catch up with the gang from “30 Rock”?
