When is the last time you had a wonderful customer service experience at a fast-food drive-thru window? Seen more often as a convenience for a quick bite to eat, the drive-thru is not usually thought of as a place to connect with people in a meaningful way. But one man is out there doing his best to make the day a little better for each of his customers.

Twenty-year-old Jeremiah Murrill works at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Wilmington, North Carolina. He’s recently gotten some national attention for his top-notch customer service at the drive-thru. In late December 2019, Facebook user Toya Liles decided to give the world a chance to share in Murrill’s enthusiasm for his work at Chick-fil-A.

“Luv this young man,” Liles posted in the video’s caption. “He’s like this ALL the time. A1 services all day every day.”

In the video, you see Murrill, all bundled up in his jacket, taking orders outside the restaurant not only with a smile but also with an amazing attitude. As Liles orders her food, Murrill makes sure she knows what her choices are on everything from what cheeses she can have on her sandwich to customizing her vegetables. He is so upbeat throughout the process that we think this guy could turn a bad day into something good just with his mood and smile!

“You are only one swipe away from having an awesome lunch meal,” Murrill tells Liles and her passenger in the short video. “It will be our pleasure to serve you at the drive-thru window after two more things: a fist bump for each of you. You guys are awesome! Thanks so much for choosing Chick-fil-A.”

For Murrill, he doesn’t see his actions as extraordinary. He says he’s simply doing his job.

“Your actions, your behavior, or the way you interact with people matters,” Murrill told Wilmington’s WWAY-TV after the clip of him went viral. “It can transform a day.”

With thousands of shares, likes, and comments from the original Facebook video, it looks like people loved the breath of fresh air blowing in from the heart of this Chick-fil-A employee. Other locals commented that they go to that particular restaurant just to see Murrill and chat with him. Even another Chick-fi-A owner, Marissa Davis, tagged a fellow franchise owner to make sure Murrill’s efforts are noticed by the people at the chain’s corporate headquarters.

Hopefully, this will help Murrill achieve his ultimate dream: to own his own Chick-fil-A franchise and train others to connect with people in more meaningful ways.
