GOLDEN, Colo. -- Westbound Highway 6 will be closed for two days at I-70 in Golden as crews work on emergency bridge repair in the area.
One lane of traffic will be routed though the closure using the shoulder as Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) crews work to complete emergency repairs to the eastbound portion of the I-70 bridge over US 6, a spokesman for the department said.
Closures will take place Wednesday and Thursday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The repair work is necessary after a semi truck carrying a track hoe crashed into the bridge structure causing "significant damage," the CDOT spokesperson said.
