Starting November 6, Denver7 and a team of Colorado businesses and organizations will work together through the holiday season to feed the hungry in the Centennial State.
Nearly one out of every six children in Colorado doesn't always know when and where their next meal will come from, and many of them rely on school lunch programs as their main — if not only — source of nutrition. During school breaks, they're left without this key resource.
Denver7 Holiday Heroes aims to address this issue by collecting donations to help feed families across the Colorado Front Range during the holidays. The program is run in collaboration with Sunflower Bank, The Joint Chiropractic, Food Bank of the Rockies, Community Food Share and Food Bank For Larimer County.
Holiday Heroes is accepting monetary donations at seven participating Sunflower Bank locations, as well as 21 The Joint Chiropractic locations — and online. See the Holiday Heroes’ page on TheDenverChannel.com for more details.
All donations will be used to support weekend and school break food programs for local children and their families administered by Food Bank of the Rockies in Metro Denver, Community Food Share in Boulder and Broomfield, and Food Bank for Larimer County in Fort Collins and Loveland.
