Firefighters rescue three dogs from storm drain in Littleton

Posted

LITTLETON, Colo. – You’ve heard about firefighters rescuing cats from trees, but what about dogs in storm drains?

An animal control officer with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received such a call on Monday about three mastiffs stuck in a storm drain at West Arlington Place and South Zinna Court in Littleton.

Deputies said the dogs got into the storm drain by running into a nearby culvert after escaping from their yard.

Firefighters from West Metro Fire Rescue were able to get all three dogs out safely.

The sheriff’s office posted photos of the rescue on Facebook.

Deputies said the animal control officer spoke to the dogs’ owner, who purchased licenses for the dogs.
