ASPEN, Colo. — An Aspen Mountain skier is grateful to an honest group of Aspen Ski employees who returned a money belt with $10,000 cash inside.
The cash belongs to the 79-year-old skier who told the Aspen Timeshe lost it somewhere beneath the Ajax Express Lift Sunday.
He told employees of the loss as soon as he realized it was missing. He was relieved to hear the cash had already been found and was secured inside a locker.
A ski instructor found the money and gave it to a lift operator, who eventually handed it over to a ski patroller, who locked it up.
The man told the Aspen newspaper the cash is for four months of living expenses as he the Florida doctor lives part-time in Aspen.
