LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. -- More than 60 dogs were rescued from a home in Larimer County Monday.
The dogs are all Chihuahuas.
Officials with the Larimer Human Society said the owner of the dogs found themselves in an "overwhelming circumstance."
"Thanks to the collaboration between the owner and Animal Protection and Control these 63 Chihuahuas are now getting a new lease on life," the Larimer Humane Society said in a statement sent to Denver7.
The Larimer Humane Society is vaccinating and evaluating the dogs. Most of the dogs are being transferred to other agencies to assist in finding them new homes. Those agencies are the Longmont Humane Society, Dumb Friends League, Denver Animal Shelter, Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region and Humane Society of Boulder Valley.
