DENVER – Police and investigators in Colorado are looking for a man who has repeatedly failed to properly register as a sex offender and remains at large.
Daniel Dwayne Davis, 24, is Colorado’s No. 24 most-wanted sex offender, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
Davis, who is described as a black male who is 5-foot-6 and 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, has a warrant out for his second failure-to-register offense this year.
The Denver Sheriff’s Department issued the warrant in August—months after a similar warrant had been issued, also out of Denver.
The CBI says Davis has a conviction on a sex assault on a child charge.
But he’s continually failed to properly adhere to the rules for the state’s sex offender registry. He was charged in 2014 with failing to register, a crime he pleaded guilty to in October 2015.
In 2016, he was charged with registering under a false address. He received an 18-month suspended sentence after his conviction. And another warrant was issued for failing to register this past January.
Court records show Davis was arrested on the warrant in July, but that he was again charged with failing to register in August.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the CBI tip line at 303-239-5732 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
