BOULDER, Colo. – Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who they say tried to lure a young boy into his vehicle this past Wednesday in the City of Boulder.
The attempted luring happened at approximately 3 p.m. as a 10-year-old boy was walking home from school, police said.
The man reportedly contacted the boy near the intersection of 15th St. and Orchard Ave. and, according to police, asked the boy if he needed a ride before he asked the child to get into his vehicle.
Police said the boy ran home and immediately told a parent what had happened, and police were called to take a report of the incident.
The suspect is described as a middle-aged white man with scruffy, facial hair. Police said that at the time of the attempted luring, he was wearing a green hat. The vehicle he was driving is described as an older model red van that was dirty and in poor condition.
An official with Boulder police say they have increased patrols in the area.
