Home & Gadget Expo

What: All the things you’d expect from a home improvement show, with a technical twist. Get innovative home renovation ideas from cutting-edge technology to amazing tools to help you maximize space.  Plus stage demonstrations and a special appearance from Food Network Celebrity Chef Kristin Sollenne.   This show will have something for every project.  And the kiddos will also enjoy activities, games and face painting.

Where:  Island Grove Regional Park, 501 N. 14th Avenue, Greeley, Colo.

When: Friday: 12 p.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Admission: $5 – Adults; Kids under 13 years are free. (Free admission for Seniors and Active Military on Friday.)

DocuWest International Film Festival

What: It’s a film festival featuring documentaries all about Colorado!  There will be documentaries by local filmmakers and never-before-seen historic films. Enjoy a movie or two, or make it a movie marathon this weekend.

Colorado Rockies vs. New York Mets

What: Our Rockies are home to take on the New York Mets this weekend. Jump on the bandwagon and watch the Blake Street Bombers battle the Mets. 

Where:  Coors Field, 2001 Blake Street, Denver, Colo.

When: Friday: 6:40 p.m.; Saturday: 6:10 p.m.; and Sunday: 2:10 p.m.

Admission: Tickets start at $16 (Rockpile seats are $7)

Indian Market and Powwow

What: As Colorado’s largest authentic American Indian art show, this annual event celebrates art, culture and dance. Featuring nationally acclaimed artists selling their wares and over 50 intertribal American Indian dancers and drum groups sharing their heritage through traditional dance and regalia.  Plus, educational and interactive exhibits, art demonstrations and more. 

Where: The Fort Restaurant, 19192 Hwy 8, Morrison, Colo.

When: Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Admission:  $5 – Adults, $3 – Students with ID; Seniors and Kids under 12 years are free.

Valverde Bazaar Outdoor Market

What: Voted one of Denver’s Best Flea Markets by Westword, this curated market will feature emerging artists and independent businesses selling vintage, antique and handmade products.  Over 90 of Colorado’s most creative sellers and food trucks will set up shop in the architectural antiques yard of Eron Johnson Antiques for this one-day market.

Dinosaur Discovery Day – Earth and Sky

What: Join the Friends of Dinosaur Ridge for an educational day of geology and fossil fun.  Enjoy hands-on activities like panning for gold, fossil sifting and dinosaur track painting at the Visitor Center.  Then hike or bike the trail, learning from the scientists and volunteers along the way.   (Or you can take the shuttle for a small fee.)

Kites in the Park

What:  It’s high flying fun.  Spread a blanket to lay and watch as kite fliers from around the world perform ballets, battles, and fly giant tiger, fish and bird kites through the skies above. Plus, food, activities, demonstrations and giveaways throughout the day.  Kids will also have the chance to make their own kites.  Free shuttles will run from the parking lot at Hughes Stadium.
