ASPEN, Colo. – A Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office deputy was placed on paid administrative leave for being drunk on duty.
Deputy George Kremer, 61, was cited by the Colorado State Patrol after another deputy smelled alcohol on his breath during a traffic investigation Wednesday morning in Aspen.
Kremer was charged with misdemeanor prohibited use of weapon and not DUI, because the trooper did not see the deputy drive, the Summit Daily News reports.
The deputy told the Aspen paper that he has been with the office for 19 years.
