A man accused of laundering money from Colombia to buy a marijuana grow house in Denver has pleaded guilty.
The Denver Post reports Luis Uribe struck a deal with federal prosecutors and pleaded guilty Wednesday to marijuana possession and conspiracy to possess marijuana. He agreed not to contest the government's seizure of more than $800,000 and several cars and watches.
He also agreed to testify at any trials of his co-defendants, who include his brother.
Uribe is the second person to plead guilty of the four charged in connection with federal raids that targeted people and businesses connected to the now-defunct VIP Cannabis dispensary.
Authorities originally said they suspected the operation may have ties to Colombian drug cartels, but prosecutors have made no such allegation in court.
